Yay & Nay Looks on the Grammy’s Red Carpet
Grammy Awards
Music’s most prestigious award show, the Grammy’s, aired last night on CBS; not only did the show meet viewer’s expectations, but the red carpet viewing brought the WOW! factor to the event. E! network hosted the two hour red carpet event prior to the show, displaying a sea of hollywood celebrities in gorgeous designer gowns, ranging from pop star, Katy Perry, to country singer, Carrie Underwood, in Gucci and Roberto Cavalli. Collectively, I have separated the best, Yay!, and worst, Nay!, looks of the night.
Yay Looks
Katy Perry empathized glamour in a beautiful emerald green fitted gown by designer Gucci.
Taylor Swift resembled a greek goddess in a perfectly draped dress by J. Mendel.
Jennifer Lopez can do no wrong! In an all black dress JLo brought the sexy in a Anthony Vaccarello open leg gown.
Roberto Cavalli designed a fabulously detailed gown radiating Carrie Underwood’s beauty in addition to a sparkling necklace.
Best Dressed
Paparazzi and viewers alike could not get enough of Rihanna Sunday night in a gleaming red Azzedine Alaïa gown. Rihanna looked absolutely stunning as she brought class to the red carpet in addition to a thick red lip. In particular, what I love about the designer dress is the criss cross design in the back as well as the extended train that flowed along the matching red carpet.
Nay Looks
Although Estelle is a talent at singing, she may want to take lessons on red carpet attire. Waist up, this crop top makes a cute casual outfit, but the extension of the dress just makes it confusing and overwhelming. I would have liked to see Estelle in a more simplistic gown displaying her elegance.
Oh no! I love Michael Kors, but this cut-out dress was just all wrong. There’s no other way to say it – CHEAP! Poor, Karlie Kloss looked as if she bought a dress off the discount rack from JC Penny and decided to cut out several geometric shapes to try to pass it as fashion forward. The light blue does not work in this setting, I wish she could just redo this entire outfit.
Yay or Nay??
Kelly Rowland in Georges Chakra Couture is one of the many fashion controversies of the Grammy’s. Over the last 24 hours fashion analysts have tipped both ways calling the gown “a perfect fit”, “a needed change” while others claim it as a DISASTER!
This time I’m letting you decide whether this look was a Yay or Nay!
Let me know your thoughts!
Nice stuffs you got here.
